Australia has the reputation of being a major producer of halal red meat in the world. In the wake of Muslim consumers' awareness of halal status and the growing demand of the multi-billion halal industry, this paper aims to explain the factors that are critical for ensuring a successful implementation of halal red meat supply chain in Australia. From the perspective of halal meat processors, this exploratory research paper is based on semi structured interviews with six meat processors located in the state of Victoria.
